1/10/2023 0 Comments Does mightytext drain battery![]() I clear the Cache almost nightly from the storage settings. ![]() I don't play a lot of games (games are a killer, as is email and chat services as far as I can tell) In Security settings I have Android device manager connected so this probably syncs with the location in some way, which must impact battery somehow. I have countless things syncing constantly - Evernote, 2 gmail accounts, yahoo, 1 corporate email (use Nine), whatsapp, Line chat, Instagram, Wunderlist task management, Flow task management, Bleacher Report, Yahoo Sports and news, etc. I think I disabled a couple other location related things in Google settings, but basically just be thorough in going through the settings and turn off anything that would logically affect battery negatively. I tweaked Google settings to make sure ok Google is off because this is redundant considering moto voice already has active listening. Moto apps are on except for: flashlight gesture, moto voice to ear, and don't use assist at all. I thought it did when I first got the phone and ran without it, but in the end, the difference with location on low and off was negligible. Location on battery saving (for about 3/4ths of my time with the T1 I kept off completely but then when I needed gps for navigation my phone started to take too long to pick up the location, so I started leaving it on low battery, which didn't seem to have much of an impact. I use exclusively network cause I have unlimited data (trying wifi at home for the first time today) Does anyone have any big recommendations to conserve battery? In no particular order: I leave my Bluetooth on all day because I have an Android Wear watch and I usually try to keep location off as well. I don't think I used whatsapp at that point though so that might account for the difference.Ĭan someone who is getting more than 2 days worth of battery post their settings? I get a little over 12 hours with roughly 4 hours of screen time. I averaged closer to 5 hours SOT on my Droid Maxx and I usually charge overnight, but I could consistently get to 28-30 hours on that phone. I once got 7.5 hours on that over 38 hours, but that seemed kind of flukish. I also had a Droid Maxx and I have to say that was the most battery efficient phone I've used to date. I have 1 corporate email, 2 very active gmails and 1 yahoo account all auto pushing, in addition to a ton of chat on whatsapp, which seems to hit the battery pretty hard. This is all on network and a ton of emailing. So I'm getting about 8 hours more time with this phone and legitimately do not charge overnight some nights. I would have to charge every night no matter what and was averaging about 4 hours, 30 min SOT but with only about 20 hours on a single charge. My Turbo 1 seemed to be a little more efficient with the screen, but the standby time wasn't nearly as good. If I were more active over an 16-18 hour period I'd expect to get closer to 5-6 hours SOT. I'm averaging about 28 hours on this phone with about 4 hours, 20 min SOT.

![]() Now how can I make this real? One of my neighbors has a scrap bike trailer…īut see what I mean about ideas? I just took two existing ideas and rubbed them together, and in this case, they emitted sparks. What do you get? A roll of paper that can be drawn on by normal kids, rolled up behind a bicycle, with a tank that they can pressurize with a bike pump, that will spray a pixelated version of their art as they roll down the sidewalk. You take something like the player-pianoesque MIDI barrel piano that we featured last Thursday, and mix it together with the street-painting bicycle trailer that we featured on Friday. ![]() ![]() It just happened to me while listening to Mike and myself on this week’s Hackaday Podcast. One incredibly fertile generator of “new” ideas is simply putting old ideas next to each other and realizing that a chain of two or three can get you to someplace new. Indeed, we all have well-stocked mental toolboxes that say “this thing can be used to do that” and “if you want to get there, start here”. While the team seems to be far from a finished product, the group is focused on getting better one day at a time. How do you come up with new ideas? As much as it sometimes seems like they arrive in a flash out of the blue, they don’t just come out of nowhere. With both the offense and the defense clicking, the Tar Heels have put themselves in a good position for the remainder of regular-season play. Virginia Tech's shots on goal percentage is 39.5 percent for the season, but on Friday, the team shot only 20 percent on goal. The Tar Heels limited the Hokies to five shots and only one shot on goal, as Virginia Tech got looks throughout the match but could not penetrate the UNC defense. “Defense is always strong for us and we take pride in it,” Garvanian said. The team has only allowed six goals this season, and after Friday's shutout, has held the opposing team scoreless five times. We’ve been struggling a little but we found a groove tonight.”ĭefense, however, has been the name of the game when talking about the Tar Heels this season. “We’ve been working on this a ton in practice and trying to get it to come to life in games. “(The team chemistry) clicked a little bit more tonight,” Garvanian said. The Tar Heels shot 17 shots and had nine on goal. While Garvanian was a game-changer on Friday, with one goal and one assist, the chemistry was clicking on all cylinders. Then, in the 67th minute, Garvanian struck the ball from outside the box, which hit off the goalkeeper's gloves and bounced in for the goal. The Tar Heels took a 1-0 lead into halftime. “I feel like my role is when I go on the field, I want to create scoring chances and opportunities to score.” “It doesn’t matter about how much you play or when you come in, just try your hardest and make an impact for your team,” White said. He is second on the team in goals scored with two - only behind Garvanian, who has four. White, who hasn't started once this season, has been a spark for the Tar Heels off the bench. “He just has to bring a positive attitude on a more consistent basis, but without a doubt when he does that, we have tons of confidence he will provide.” “He has capability, he has a good spirit and he is energetic,” head coach Carlos Somoano said. In a battle against the last-place team in the ACC Coastal division, North Carolina got on the board in the 23rd minute when redshirt junior Key White struck first off of an assist from fifth-year Milo Garvanian.Īfter missing all of last season, the speedy forward is starting to find his stride. UNC dominated both sides of the ball, something the Tar Heels have not done all season. Since then, the Tar Heels had scored just five goals in eight games.Īfter going over a month without scoring two goals in a match, North Carolina did just that on Friday night in a 2-0 shutout win against Virginia Tech. ![]() The last time the UNC men's soccer team scored two goals in a single game was Aug. ![]() It is not a topic that can easily be summarized. Instead of just caving in or deciding it’s time to update your resume, try these approaches to gain better balance for yourself and strengthen your relationship with a demanding boss. You may have relevant data or experience that counters the validity of your boss’s directions, yet there can still be a lot of pressure to comply with every demand. It can be dangerous to defy a superior, and even arguing your point can feel unsafe. When you work for one of these folks, you can feel like you’re being set up to fail. They don’t take into account the facts on the ground, or they habitually refer to their past experiences at other companies rather than to the people and events in the current organization, or perhaps they report to someone who’s even more aggressive or overly optimistic than they are. But some bosses are unrealistic most of the time. Whether your manager is a front-line supervisor or the CEO, every leader occasionally has unrealistic expectations. You might say something like, “Take a look at these scenarios, and let me know which aspects match your sense of things, and then I can build them out.” This approach can feel time-consuming, but it keeps you from straying far off-base and fosters a sense of partnership that will help you develop trust for the future. Ask questions and lay out iterative plans that you feel are realistic. Check to be sure you understand and are delivering on what your boss actually wants. You can acknowledge the requests without labeling them as unrealistic. Showing that you’re on the same page may give you the leeway to explain some of the practical realities. Then, keep in mind that your boss and you presumably have shared goals. You might try grounding techniques (also known as anchoring), which bring the overly reactive mind back to the body. First, calm yourself so you can gather your thoughts and take measured, appropriate action, rather than reacting impulsively. Instead of just caving in or deciding it’s time to update your resume, there are a few approaches you can try to preserve your sanity and forge a stronger relationship with your boss. It can be frustrating to work with a boss who has unrealistic expectations. ![]() ![]() All of these examples constitute the design not working. By utilizing the responsive resize functionality defined earlier, you can just slowly drag your artboard into a smaller (or larger, if you’re starting from the smallest) format. It is unlikely that a satellite-smartphone connection would work well when the handset is inside a building, for example. The typical distance from a phone to an LEO satellite might be 500 kilometers, at least two orders of magnitude more than typical signal-transmission distances in urban settings, so the dispersion of the phone’s power would be at least eight times greater, and would be further complicated by the phone’s orientation. However, receiving info would be even more challenging since the smartphone antennas usually disperse their energy in all directions.” “Sending signals to smartphones outdoors could be feasible by using low Earth orbit satellites with sizable antennas in the sky. “The main challenge is the link budget,” says electrical engineer Symeon Chatzinotas of the University of Luxembourg, referring to the amount of power required to transmit and receive data between satellites and connected devices. Space-based cell service would not require special equipment, making it a potential candidate for rural broadband funds if companies can develop solutions to the many challenges that face satellite-based smartphone service. Federal Communications Commission just rejected SpaceX’s application for some of the US $9 billion federal rural broadband fund-in part because the Starlink system requires a $600 ground station. LEO satellite systems such as SpaceX’s Starlink and Amazon’s Kuiper envision huge constellations of satellites. Inmarsat and other companies are working on their own low Earth orbit (LEO) cellular solutions as launch prices drop, satellite fabrication methods improve, and telecoms engineers push new network capabilities. In April, Lynk Global launched the first direct-to-mobile commercial satellite, and on 15 August a competitor, AST SpaceMobile, confirmed plans to launch an experimental direct-to-mobile satellite of its own in mid-September. ![]() The next generation of cellphone networks won’t just be 5G or 6G-they will be zero g. 1/9/2023 0 Comments Ascension michigan![]() Cannabis plants showcase about 40 terpenes each, and a total of 200 have been identified in different strains. The price of Bitwig is 1/3 of Ableton (the Suite,) and it is new code with no legacy PDC issues. This aspect is somewhat similar to Logic's Smart Controls, and I'd imagine other DAWs such as Cubase also have similar workflows, but Bitwig's plan is to have the entire app as one big modular host, at least from what I can glean. It serves its purpose quite handily, and I gain access to their version of "Session View." Their latest releases have upped the ante on the stock plugins, and the aforementioned Unified Modular capabilities are quite good- with the ability to include third party SW Instruments, quite handy for automation with the macro controls. I'm on a Mac and am not too familar with VST3s, though I do use Bitwig on a PC laptop. Bitwig's ultimate goal is extending their Unified Modular environment such that the whole platform has Max-for-Live type functionailty baked in. Those who own the Suite do get The Glue out of the box at least. ![]() I don't want to get into a shooting match regarding Logic's stock plugins v Ableton's. You have no access to their plugins (not that Logic needs them,) unlike with Reason- the whole reason Rewire was originally created. I have done the rewire thing with Ableton. It's quite CPU hungry and produces no better results than copying and pasting "clips" (scenes in Bitwig lingo) from one DAW to the other. Logic is my primary DAW and I am quite happy with Bitwig. That's why it took a bit of extra time but they wanted to redo this early on since the previous framework they were using didn't work so well(portaudio). Bitwig as company and a daw ROCKS! YMMV of course !!!Īlso yes it works great with hardware and with 1.2 they rewrote part of the audio engine that was used to interface with the users audio interface. I will admit I am bitwig fanboy and rightfully so. The community there is VERY supportive of the team and the vibe there shows it. Head over to the KVR forums for bitwig if you want a better picture of whats going on. They are hands down for me one of the best in the business in terms of community involvement. So be patient and more importantly be respectful to an extremely quality company. 1.2 beta 4 will be released very soon the rest of the license holders im sure. I am in that group and 1.2 beta 3 has proven to be pretty darn stable for me right now. Right now they are in the stages of 1.2 beta to a select group of beta testers. They are extremely fast with releasing updates, much more so than any other DAW I have ever used. They engage their users and implement based on user feedback(within reason of course). It has some issues here and there(its quickly becoming issue free though for me) but they have the best support i've ever dealt with. I have been using bitwig since its release(previous live user and cubase). 1/9/2023 0 Comments Download secret neighbor![]() Now you have to connect Your iPhone to your Mac via USB cable and select the destination folder.
